Family Picture retakes # 3

We have had family Pictures once a month for the last 3 months. In August with the Bourne's, then in September with the Hansen's, then a few weeks ago we had our individual family ones taken. I don't care if we go 5 years with out another family picture. My cheeks still hurt from smiling. So here are some of the ones from October. They are my favorite. I love fall picture's. She did a great job. Here blog link in listed in the "other" section of my blog.

A little Networking

As most of you know by now, Sean will be Graduating in December. I am so excited and proud of him. But I am alittle bummed too. I was really hopeing he would start applying for a new job before he finished school. I love him to death but, he is not much of a multi-tasker! He is just planning on waiting until after he graduates before he starts to look. So.... I just though I would ask my family and friends for alittle help. His degree is in Finance, and if anyone knows of a job in that field, would you please let me know. At this point I really don't care if I have to move out of state or even out of the country, I just want to move out of my in-laws basement! Don't get me wrong, I love my in-laws and they are doing us a Huge favor by letting us stay here. I'm just starting to ware alittle thin. I am trying really hard to be patient and have faith that things will work out for us, but sometimes it's hard. I am really anxious to get settled again. So please just keep us in mind if you hear of anything.

A lovely Pumpkin Patch Hayride

I'm sorry to do so many post this month, and I know my last two post have been alittle more on the serious side, but that's kind of how my mood has been the last two weeks. I hope to get back to more funny, but all to true stories about my busy little guys.

I took the boys to our annual Hayride at the Day Farms. I remember last year I went and just took Brighton and I was about 8 weeks away from having Landon. I had to carry Brite out in the middle of the field then haul him and both our Pumpkins back to the tractor by myself. I'm sure it was quite a sight. I swore that I wound not go without another adult ever again. Which brings us to this year. Sean had to work, and I had this crazy vision of the three of us hand- in- hand, riding a hay coverd wagon out to the Pumpkin Patch and carefully choosing the perfect Pumpkin. Then my children would sit next to there Pumpkin and pose for a lovely photograph. Then in a few days we would all sit around the kitchen table and carve our pumpkins together. Ahhh...

However, this is what really happened. They open at 4:00, and we arrived at 4:30. There was a line but it didn't look to bad. So we paid the nice Farmer and got it the last of 4 lines. About 10 minuets later the boys are stating to get restless so I told them to sit down in the hay and make a big pile. Some boys in the line next to us joined in. Well, about 30 seconds later they were all throwing hay and screaming at each other.

Next a tractor pulls up, not ours and Brighton tries to get on. I tell him it's no our turn, and we have to wait for the next one. And he starts yelling "ride the Percy(green) tractor MARCIE!" Keep in mind the lines are starting to get crowded so by now 50+ people are watching his happen.

FINALLY, our tractor comes and we are all one board. Well I had forgotten that they have teenage boys with mask's on, jump out of the Corn and scare you. They scared the CRAP out of Landon. So now he is crying into the ear of the nice young man sitting next to me for the remainder of the ride. The poor guy was in Army fatigues and with his three small children and very pregnant wife. It was probably his last weekend with his family before he goes off to defend out country. What a lovely memory he'll have.

Finally we get to choose our pumpkins! Now I decided to let Brighton choose whatever one he wanted and I was not going to sway his decision. Well, if you ever wondered what a $5 pumpkin looks like, here it is:

Yeah Brighton wanted a Percy(green) one, and I'm pretty sure it's rotten. Also it' s hard to see the size in the picture but it is somewhat small. I'm half tempted to drive back over there tonight and switch it for a good one, and just tell him the HaLlOwEeN FaIrY brought him a new one while he was asleep.

Then there was the issue of carrying them back to the tractor while holding Landon. Anyway, I REFUSE to go without Sean next year especially if I am pregnant again by then! I hope not.
I did run into some of our old neighbors from Syracuse that we really liked. It's always fun to see old friends. Here are the rest of the not so lovely pictures from the wonderful outing.

And here is the PeRcy PuMpKiN!

Two funerals in one week

I think the title pretty much sum's up how our week is going. We had two friends pass away last week. One of Seans childhood friends passed away after a 9 month battle with cancer. He was only 32. I know he had finished his work in this life, but it is still so had to believe. And our former neighbor and dear friend passed away after a 19 year struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was 79 and he and his wife Trudi lived a few houses up for us in Syracuse. They were obviously several years older than us, but we have a wonderful friendship with them. They have 9 kids, 40 grandkids, and 40 great grand kids. They are a wonderful example to us. We have both commented that if we end up being half as good as they are we would be satisfied. Sense both set's of my Grandparents have passed away I consider them my adopted Grandparents. Trudi and I seemed to connect instantly. We loved Ocsar and will miss him but we are better people for having known him. Our Heart's go out to both there families.

Missionaries

On the way to Walmart today we passed by two little Missionaries bundled up in Coats. I pointed them out to Brighton and he said "Burr they cold". I said "yeah they probably are, but they are out looking for people to teach about our Church, did you know that? He said "uh huh". I turned around and looked at my boys and tears filled my eyes. I don't know if it's because I had a mental picture of my own boys out walking around in the cold, far away from home in 16-18 years, or if it was because I know the sacrifice those missionaries(and there families) are making to take such a wonderful and true message, to people who are searching for it. Either way it touch me. This is not the first time this has happened. In fact, every time I see Missionaries I start to cry , I guess that's how it is when you have little boys. I can't wait for my boys to be Missionaries. And I hope I can do what I need to prepare them now.

There is only one me

And thank goodness, I don't think this world could handle any more. There were 18,319 people in the U.S. named Marcie, and I bet 90% of them are Hair Stylist. Actually I always liked my name because I was never Marcie H. or Marcie B. in grade school. I loved being an original. I found this when I was blog stalking late one night. It is really interesting. Try it. http://www.howmanyofme.com
