Snakes,Carseat tent and bye bye baby clothes

Last week marked one year sense my uncle passed away. I just kept thinking about my own Dad and how much I Cherish that time he is able to spend with his Grandkids. He found this baby Snake when he was mowing the lawn and helped the boys hold it and look at it.

The carseat tent is finished. I am happy with how it turned out and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Although it's just a square so I think pretty much anybody could make one.

I got the instructions from a local fabric store called sew and save and made a few of my own adaptions mostly by mistake. Just don't look to closely at it.

But I guess it will keep the snow off her so it serves it's purpose.

And I have almost gotten rid of all the boys baby clothes on Ebay. I didn't want to have to hang on to them just in case I ever have another boy and I've been replacing them with some fun baby girl stuff.

Creative juices

So every once in awhile I get the urge to be creative. Actually my head is always full of ideas I just never find the time to get to them. Also sense we are still without residence, most of my creations get boxed up, labeled, and placed in one of two storage sheds. But lately I have actually followed through on some of my projects.
The lamp I made was really easy and cheap. I already had the base, it was Black so I spray painted it White. I replaced the old red shade with a Navy one, that I got for $6 at Walmart, and some ribbon. It matches the Pottery Barn bedding I got the boys with my birthday money, but the bedding went to the storage shed. The bedding will eventually go on the Bunk Beds which are also in the storage shed. I keep telling myself I will have all sorts of forgotten treasures when we finally move. The Tutu is alittle hard to see because the colors I used are so light, I also realize it may be alittle pre-mature but it was fun to make. I might use it for her newborn pictures or something. I know the pictures are not great, maybe i'll get a really nice new camera, but it would probably just end up in the storage shed.:)

The New carseat and yes....more fabric

This is the Babies new car seat. It's a Black & White Damask and Houndstooth pattern. I loved the car seat I had for the boys but it was Blue and Brown Plaid and would have been hard to make work for a girl. I have liked this one for a while. I found it @ gracobaby.com and actually bought it through walmart.com, had it shipped (for free) to my local Walmart and picked it up when I did my grocery shopping. Once again I wanted VERY feminine but not pink. I am 100% happy with it.

The boys decided to test it out. Landon climbed in and I could not believe how big it made him seem until..........

Brighton got in. It's funny how you forget just how tiny newborns really are.

And another sewing project. And no the crib bedding is not finished. I have intentions of making a car seat tent with this. I am pretty sure I can actually do this all by myself.(Hollie of coarse you can help if you really want to). The Pink is for the outside and the Polka-dot will go inside. I got black Rick-rack to use on the edges and 2 inch wide black and white polka dot ribbon for the ties. IF I ever really make it I will post pictures and instructions on how to make your own.
