So one of our goals as a family this year is to try harder at being more consistent with family Home evening. We realize our kids are little so we keep it simple and set our expectations low and it seems like it had been going pretty well so far but let me paint a picture of last nights events...Our lesson was about Missionaries, the boys are bouncing off the walls, both are wearing cowboy hats and rain boots for some reason, jumping from the train table to the chair and screaming at the top of there lungs. Sean's holding Halle who has had RSV over the weekend and trying to give her an oral steroid(that taste like gasoline) to open up her airway and she's spitting it all over her Pajama's. I'm holding my Gospel Art spiral bound book open to the picture of missionaries, which the cute little old lady at the Church distribution center assured me would be perfect and bring us Family Home Evening bliss every Monday night . I'm trying to talk in a sweet and loving voice but loud enough that I can be heard over the screaming. "do you know how old you have to be to go on a mission boys?" , "do you know Daddy was a missionary, and you grandpa's?" , "did you know girls can go on missions to?" ect... Finally I ask (after I may have just quietly muttered a swear word under my breath) "Landon, where do you think you'll go on your mission?" Landon:"to Disneyland!!!" "Brighton what is it that missionaries do" as he stabs Landon with his pirate sword and yells "they fight!" Me trying desperately to salvage the lesson, "Yes , yes that's good you were listening Missionaries do fight, they fight to bring the truth to all the World." Sean looks at me raises his eyebrows and says "Wow that was a stretch." Yep, this is pretty much how I remember Family Home Evening going from my own childhood.

Hollie, rarely but this is probably why:)!
Hey, I like to think I had a pretty good "mission" at Disney World. So funny. Enjoy it while it lasts!
What a good post, it made me laugh!
I meant to tell you how much I like your new pictures. You all look adorable.
So, I wasn't being negative in my last comment. It's just that there was so much commotion going on on Monday nights that I don't really remember anything else. Come to think of it, I was probably causing the commotion. It's a good thing that Landon and Brighty can carry on the family tradition! Love you guys.
Funny FHE, but as I remember it at our house, things were pretty much the same as far as comments go. I think your family is VERY normal!! Love the new pictures.
The FHE description cracks me up!
