Talker Kid

I know, kind -of a weird post title. Allow me to explain. When Brighton was about a year old until he was about two, he really had no interest in talking much. He made all sorts of strange gibberish that sounded like some sort of foreign language. The funny thing was he would make the same noise over , and over as if he really understood what he was saying then he would look at you with this look on his face that seemed to say, "you idiot, don't you speak English?" So his older cousins lovingly gave him the nick-name Talker Kid. Now with Landon we are having a totally different experience. He has turned into quite the little parrot. He can say, Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Gramdma, Brite, Quack-Quack, Dog, Ball, No, Tickle,-Tickle, yeah, yucky, cracker, cup and others . In some ways it has been really nice. He points to what he wants and says "I want dat." It has really eliminated some of the frustrations that we felt when Brighton was at this stage. However, It has also come with some new challenges. For instance, I AM STILL NURSING! Yes I know he is 13 months, but sense he is somewhat on the small side for his weight his Doctor wanted me to either continue to nurse or supplement with formula until he is 15 months and sense he refuses to take a bottle we are left with one option. I realize this is probably alittle T.M.I.(to much informantion) but I promise I have a point to this story. Well , now our little talker has a new favorite word. BOOB! That's right BOOB. So today I was in line at the grocery store and the person checking us out happened to be a Man. Landon kept pointing at my chest and saying, "Boob, Boob I want Boob." I couldn't even look the clerk in the eye when he asked if it was credit or debit. So I guess the moral of the story is they are advantages to having kids that are late talkers.
