7 YEARS LATER.........

THE BOURNES
est.August 23rd 2001

Sean and I celebrate our 7th anniversary today. The last 7 years have been busy and pretty event full for the most part. In some ways it seems like such a small amount of time but when you think back to all that we have done up to this point it seems a lot longer . I thought I would be fun to do a little recap of some of the highlights that took place for us in each year of our marriage. I wish I had some Wedding Photos but they are all in our storage shed.

YEAR ONE

Sean was 24 and attending Weber State University( wanting to be a Physical Therapist), and working as a Server at Red Robin. I was 19 and going to Fran Brown Beauty College and working at Merle Norman Cosmetics. We lived in the upstairs of a tiny one bedroom house in Farmington. It was old, and spooky but we paid only $400 a month for rent. We were very poor and instead of running our heater all the time we put 4 blankets on the bed and cuddled a lot:). Very few meals were made that first year but we at a lot of PB&J"S. Life was good and we just looked forward to the 1 hour a night we actually got to see each other.

YEAR TWO

Sean was still attending Weber State University( and thinking about doing something in the IS&T field). He was working for Zion Bank at the Downtown Branch. I had finished Beauty School, and was working full time at Phazes Salon. We had moved to a slightly larger 2 bedroom duplex in Kaysville. We purchased our first car as a married couple which was a big step. It was a 2002 Galant and I think interest rates were at 4.25% - those were the days. We were able to see each other alittle more and enjoyed going on double dates with other couples.

YEAR THREE

Sean was still attending Weber State University(but finally decided that Finance was the way to go). He was working for his Family's business R&L Vinyl fence as an installer. I was still working at Phazes and starting to get pretty busy. We lived with Seans parents for a few month while we looked for houses before we bought our first House in Syracuse. It was fun to have a bigger kitchen and I had mastered the fine art of "Spaghetti" making.

YEAR FOUR

Sean had put school on hold and took a position as the Installation Manger for R&L. I was still working for Phazes full-time. Sean was busy putting in our Yard and Fence and I was working on a Nursery for Bourne Baby #1. It was a very busy but fun year, and we were enjoying getting to know our neighbors and ward members. By this time I had purchased a Crock-pot Cookbook and hot meals were becoming a fairly regular event.

YEAR FIVE

Sean was still working for R&L and thinking about going back to school. I was spending my days(and nights) with our first Baby Boy BRIGHTON who was born in October 2005. Brighton is the family clown and enjoys being silly and making others laugh. We were having so much fun being new parents and enjoying every little moment. I was loving being a home maker and still working one day a week at Phazes.

YEAR SIX

Sean decided to go back to Weber State and finish his degree. He quit working for his family and started working for Sky West Airlines. I was no longer working at Phazes, which was a hard but very good decision. I was now busy with our second Baby Boy LANDON who was born in December of 2007. Landon is our Sweet, happy little guy who loves to be with his Big brother. We are currently living with Seans parents and looking forward to Seans graduation in December.

We have had a lot of good and challenging experiences over the last 7 years. It will be really fun to look back in 7 more years and see how much more things will change. It might sound something like this.... had a few more kids, moved, changed jobs, bought a minivan, took a family vacation, ran kids to School, Piano, Baseball, Soccer, Scouts, Who knows, but we are looking forward to it. We have been so blessed!

Wow how fun is that!! That is a great idea for a post. I had totally forgotten that Landon and Wes were so close. Only like 11/2 months apart. I guess I kept thinking Wes was younger cause he has absolutely NO HAIR. Anyway your family pictures are adorable and you look great!!

What a great idea! It was fun to catch up on what has happened since you've been married. I can't believe 7 years! Wow, we really need to get together with our kids and have a play date. I'll tell Greg to get your number. I have every other Friday off, so we'll have to plan something!!

Happy Anniversary! I didn't know (either) that our anniversaries were so close together! Did you do something a little more exciting than we did?
